The lychees selected by Maison Ponthier are harvested from old trees located in the Tamatave region, on the east coast of the island. The land of Tamatave is ideal for growing lychees: very rich orange soil and a tropical climate with heavy rains during the southern winter and high temperatures the rest of the year. After picking, the fruits are selected according to very strict specifications. Each bunch is then carefully peeled by hand in order to preserve all the qualities of this particularly soft and fragile flesh, which releases flavors of rose and muscat.
