Maison Ponthier guarantees a pure Ecuadorian origin and a unique variety, Flavicarpa, thanks to its long-term work with its partners. More precisely, our passion fruits come mainly from the province of Esmeraldaz, located on the northwest coast of Ecuador. This region is also called “the Green Province” because of the abundant vegetation and the brilliant gems that the Spaniards thought they would find there. This region has an ideal climate for growing fruits all year round with a stable temperature that varies only between 21 and 25°C and a particularly high humidity level. Almost every day, Esmeraldaz experiences bright sunshine at dawn and tropical rains in the afternoon and during the night.
