Vinegar Vinagro Pinot Grigio

Since 1550, by brilliant intuition of its Master of Ceremonies Cristoforo Messisburgo, the House of the Dukes of Este has produced a precious condiment named Aceto Sopraffino, earmarked to enhance, season and preserve refined dishes prepared and served at the Este Court.

The Sopraffino vinegar received the approval of those who tasted it to the point that it was often given as a gift to rulers and dignitaries of the European Houses who had appreciated it during their stays at the Estes estates in Ferrara and Modena.

Today, this tradition continues, thanks to Count Andrea Czarnocki Lucheschi and his wife Archduchess Isabelle of Austria-Este, sister of the current Duke of Modena, who have taken up the ancient family tradition and patiently rebuilt, after more than 12 years’ work, the historic “acetaie”, identical to those lost when the Duchy of Modena was annexed to the Kingdom of Italy.
